Even In White House, Obama Kids Have Chores, Too

“Were pretty old school,” President Barack Obama told Harry Smith of CBS News in a Friday interview to air on Fathers Day.

“Malia and Sasha, they have to make their beds,” the president said. “They have to walk the dog. They have to feed the dog. They have to do their homework. They dont watch TV during the week.”

Sasha, 8, and Malia, 10, moved into the White House with their parents in January. Bo the dog became part of the family a bit later.

The president is making a prominent effort to promote responsible fatherhood. He says part of his job as a dad is to give his daughters structure.

As the president put it: “Kids thrive on order.”
